How do i get rid of dark spots on my skin?

my underarms have always been pretty dark compares to the rest of my body and the insides of my thighs (like underneath my pelvic area) is really really dark. i've scrubbed and i've used a loofah sponge but it still doesnt get any lighter. is there a cream or something that i can use to lighten these spots?How do i get rid of dark spots on my skin?
Not to make you self-conscious, but sometimes being overweight can cause the brown color in parts of the skin that rub together. There's nothing you can do, they will most likely stay brownish forever.
