How can i apply foundation to cover spots?

Im quite a spotty person, and i take pills for it and use creams, but they dont really work, and i can never hide them properly with foundation, and its really getting me down. Like half way through the day, my spots start tyo look all horrible and caked in foundation, it looks disgusting and i just dont know how to stop it from looking like that.

How do i apply, foundation or concealer that will stay on all day, and i dont have to re-apply because the redness has come through again?

Thank you xHow can i apply foundation to cover spots?
foundation isn't meant to cover up blemishes %26amp; spots, it's meant to be used as a base %26amp; to even out skin tone. a lot of people forget this and cake it on! concealer is what you need to use to cover your spots.

* firstly, use an oil free foundation (so it doesn't make your spots worse - tesco do an amazing one which has been mentioned in cosmo %26amp; vogue!) apply where needed to even out skin tone

* use a liquid concealer on any red areas, and a light reflecting concealer under your eyes

* use a really creamy concealer on your spots and blend around the edges - add a little powder on top to keep the concealer in place.

* you can use a green concealer underneath the creamy concealer first, to conceal the redness. this is a trick many makeup artists use. don't worry the green doesn't show! or, use a green primer before foundation on any red areas.

hope this helps! xoxoHow can i apply foundation to cover spots?
Use concealer instead of foundation, NOT UNDER THE EYE BRIGHTENING CONCEALER!!!!!! One that matches your skin tone and apply over it THEN apply the foundation over the top, if some concealer comes off whilst you do this REDO the concealer over the top of the foundation.

Try good brands like Clinique of Chanel, it seems that your skin is very sensitive and covering it up with lots of make up is not a good idea as it will only irritate the skin maybe you need to try Bare minerals make up it is made from minerals and is so pure you can sleep in it and it won't hurt you! IT IS NOT CHEAP BUT IT IS WORTH IT!!!
Don't! Please just don't! I have seen so many people trying to cover spots and acne with foundation and/or concealer and I could write a book with all the reasons why you shouldn't.

1) No matter how much you put on you will still be able to tell you have spots!

2) As you've discovered it starts to run and rub off - not a good look!

3) If people can tell you have spots with foundation on why bother?

4)It will make them worse so you will have to keep wearing it - a cycle

I'm not gonna go on I just hope you've understood. Would you rather go out no foundation and your spots get better or you wear foundation people can still see your spots?

Lecture finito!

i think all these foundations that claim to stay put for 8 hours min are crap. so somewhere in the day you will need to reapply round the nose and under the eyes maybe.

I use almay foundation, its also a treatment for problem skin. noots used to sell it but i can only manage to get it off ebay now.

It gives a full coverage, ya only need a little bit and it stops most oily patches. apply by patting and smoothing gently, then apply additonal concealer where necessary and then brush over loose powder with a big blusher brush, you will look flawless! only apply foundation and poweder where needed too.

goood luck.
i think what you should do is try not to cover them up with foundation. my sister has just had a baby and she has spots everywhere she is only taking tablets for it. But i think if you really want them to go away is wash your face with only water and leave your face fresh and free of air hugging foundation, who cares what you look like, be proud of yourself and just think there are worse things in life you could be worrying about, just relax and if people dont like you the way you are SOD THEM!!!
use pressed powder between layers- i find it works for me- also don't go for cheap brands- try using maybe a liquid foundation and then apply a matte mousse or concealer on top

Try using a foundation brush- it works it into the skin better.
I use Revlon Colourstay foundation, topped with a bit of luminecent powder. I don't even need to use concealer %26amp; it lasts all day :)
try getting a shade thats inbetween your spot color and your skin
Ohhhh girl I know exactly how you feel!

It's horrible to have to go through the day wondering if your spots are covered, or if they're getting flaky or cakey... I HATE that!! I've gone through the day thinking my skin looked fine, then when I got to a mirror I though ';HOLY CRAP! Cake face!'; and it didn't look like that when I first put it on!

But anyways, to the point! First of all, buy some exfoliating cleanser pads (I used Dove) and they work great for removing dead skin cells and dry flaky patches (if you have them).

Second, apply a non oily lotion to your skin. I use Kiss My Face Filthy Rich Hydrating Lotion because it's natural, smells good, and absorbs really well!

Buy a cover stick that is creamy! I use Physicians Formula Organic Wear Cover Stick, which you can find at most drug stores. I've found the less makeup you wear, the better your skin will start to look!

Do NOT NOT NOT apply powder to your face!! That's what will make the caki-ness start!

If you tend to get oily thoughout the day (like me) then buy some oil blotting sheets. Neutragena, Clean n Clear and knockoff brands make them. They are great because they suck up excess oil WITHOUT disturbing makeup!

You may have to periodically touch up your face, but I've found this to be pretty effective!

Avoid makeups with mineral oil, methylparabens and a lot of harsh ingredients like that... they tend to irritate and ruin your skin!

I hope this helps!! I know how crappy weird looking skin can make you feel. GOOD LUCK!!

Hiya,

Try applying a concealer stick to each spot first. You can get a green concealer stick to do this.It won't be green on your face so don't worry. After you have covered the spots with concealer apply your foundation in the way you would normally.

When you take your make-up off at night, wash your face as you would normally (avoid soap if possible as this makes spots worse) then soak cotton wool in witch hazel and wash all over your face with it.This will help your spots a lot as it dries them out and stops new ones coming.

Avon sell a good one.It treats spots at the same time.

Good luck.

I found this for you....

follow these steps

# Clean your face and apply any products that are appropriate for your skin. These should include a lightening product on your spots. Wait 10 minutes for product(s) to soak in thoroughly.

# Apply liquid foundation now, if you use it.

# Apply a non-greasy, full-spectrum sunscreen directly on spots you want to cover. Since these spots are really caused by the sun, sunscreen will help you get rid of them. It will also glue your concealer in place. If you put sunscreen all over earlier, apply a little extra now to these areas.

# Dip small sponge applicator in an appropriate shade of pure mineral concealer and spread over dark areas. Layer until darkness is minimized. Blend with sponge or fingers.

# Brush on mineral foundation, if you use it, or a finishing powder.

# Be careful choosing a concealer shade. Nothing is more important than finding a good match.

# Don鈥檛 put liquid or cream foundation over concealer. You鈥檒l just rub the concealer off or spread it around.

# You may need to reapply concealer to your age spots during the day, but not as often.
